Beginning Reading Skills

In this course, we will use the UFLI manual to learn the following sounds and work toward achieving specific objectives:

Alphabet review

• Objective: Ensure mastery of all letter sounds.

Longer words, including CVC (cat), CCVC (stop), CVCC (fast), CCVCC (stand), and CCCVC (strap).

• Objective: Read and spell longer words with different consonant-vowel patterns.

Digraphs such as 'sh,' 'ch,' 'th', and 'wh'.

• Objective: Recognize and correctly pronounce common digraphs.
