I’ve always loved watching the moment reading “clicks” for a child.
Over the past 11 years in the classroom — from Montessori environments to public school — I’ve worked with children at every stage of the reading journey. I’ve taught toddlers recognizing letters for the first time and fifth graders working through complex texts. What I learned is this: children don’t struggle because they aren’t capable. They struggle when they haven’t been taught in the way their brains need.
As a Certified Reading Specialist with Orton-Gillingham training and Montessori certification, I believe in structured, personalized instruction that builds true confidence.
When I stepped away from the classroom to raise my boys, I felt called back to what I love most: helping children become strong, confident readers. Five years ago, I began tutoring locally, and I haven’t looked back.
There is nothing better than seeing a child realize, “I can do this.” And I’d love to help your child get there.
